Silent reflux in a 5 week old baby
"Really lovely lady who took a lot of time by phone and in person, to get the right diagnosis and treatment for my then, 5 week old baby who was suffering with silent reflux. After feeling let down by my local GP, I approached Nadia at Brookfield and the improvement in my little girl was immeasurable. We have just come to he end of our herbal tincture and I believe my baby to be good as knew. I would 100% recommend this service." (Kerri, October 2015)

Diabetes: Forty patients, aged 25-50 years, with type II diabetes and on stable medication were randomized to receive milk thistle (Silybum marianum) (dried extract, 140mg tid) or placebo for 45 days. Milk thistle was shown to significantly increase superoxide demutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GPX) and total antioxidant capacity (TAC) and to significantly reduce high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) compared to placebo: hence improving antioxidant activity and reducing inflammation (see abstract).

One hundred and sixteen post-menopausal women with symptoms of vaginal dryness, itching or burning were allocated to oral sea buckthorn oil or placebo oil (3g daily) for 3 months. The integrity of vaginal epithelium was significantly improved in the sea buckthorn group, indicating a beneficial role in vaginal atrophy (see full text).
Ginger (Zingiber officinale) was shown to be effective at reducing heavy menstrual bleeding in a placebo-controlled randomised controlled trial of 92 young women (see full text).

Warts: Fifty patients with multiple common warts resistant to treatment were randomised to receive topical lipid garlic extract or saline (placebo) control. Treatments were applied to single warts or the largest wart in multiple cases, until the lesions had completely cleared or for a maximum of 4 weeks. Garlic extract was shown to have a significant therapeutic effect, with 96% of cases completely clearing and without recurrence (see abstract).

Fifty patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) were randomised to receive daily supplements of Cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum) (2 capsules, 750mg each) or placebo (2 capsules) for 12 weeks. In addition, all patients were given advice on implementing dietary and physical activity change. Those of cinnamon showed significant improvements in NAFLD characteristics, specifically, fasting blood glucose, total cholesterol, triglyceride, alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, gamma glutamine transpeptidase, homeostatic model...

A combination herbal drop (Lamigex) containing clove (Syzygium armoaticum), lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) and herb robert (Geranium robertianum) essential oils, was found to be as effective as ciprofloxacin 0.3% drops in the treatment of acute external otitis, in a randomised controlled trial of seventy patients (see abstract).
One hundred and twenty women, 18-44 years old, diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis were randomly assigned to receive garlic tablet (Garsin) or oral metronidazole for seven days. Therapeutic effects were similar for both garlic...
